Until recently, the only way you could enjoy the wines I make myself (with a little help from my winemaker friend Bruno D’Alfonso) at The Malibu Vineyard, which surrounds my house overlooking the Pacific, was to order them off the wine list at Michael’s New York or Michael’s Santa Monica.

It’s a knock-your-socks-off food wine, great with lamb, steak, duck, turkey, and salmon. For those of you who enjoy winespeak, it’s fruit-forward, with strong nuances of black cherry and berries, along with hints of sandalwood, leather, and tobacco. In other words, it’s great drinking! The wine is ready to enjoy now but will also benefit from cellaring.
