FROM FARM TO GLASS, MICHAEL’S SHAKES THINGS UP
Celebrated Restaurateur Michael McCarty Introduces a New Dining Bar/Lounge and Revolutionary Mixology Program to His Legendary Santa Monica Restaurant
Michael’s Santa Monica has always been known as a pioneer of fresh seasonal California cuisine. Now, Michael McCarty welcomes acclaimed mixologist Jason Robey and his innovative farm-to-glass mixology program to the new dining bar/lounge. Formerly of New Heights in Washington, DC, and Death & Co.’s Bar & Kitchen in Los Angeles, Jason Robey features fresh seasonal herbs and fruits grown on the new rooftop garden (along with fresh produce from the Santa Monica Farmers’ Market) in his new inventive cocktails at Michael’s.
Michael’s debuted in Santa Monica in 1979. From the beginning, it has been a trendsetter, offering farm-to-table California cuisine and an award-winning wine list with impeccable casual service in rooms filled with the finest contemporary art. (In 1989, Michael’s opened a second location, in midtown Manhattan.) Owner Michael McCarty is also at the forefront of local winemaking with his own The Malibu Vineyard, and offers its latest vintages on the restaurant list. Michael’s Santa Monica is open for lunch Monday – Friday from 12 noon until 3 p.m. and dinner Monday – Saturday from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. For more information, menus, and reservations, visit www.michaelssantamonica.com or call 310.451.0843.
