Michael Stern has been with Michael’s in Santa Monica since April 2002. Known in the kitchen as Mikey, he grew up in the San Fernando Valley, graduating in 2000 from Taft High School in Woodland Hills. Mikey’s culinary adventures began soon after that with his enrollment in Le Cordon Bleu Program at the California School of Culinary Arts in Pasadena. He began to work at Michael's as an extern, rapidly advancing through the posts of Garde Manger, Sauté, and Sous-Chef.
Mikey's meteoric rise through the ranks, together with his creativity, his passion for cooking, and his dedication to running an efficient, happy, hard-working brigade, led to his appointment as Executive Chef in the summer of 2007. He promises to be the latest top culinary talent to gain acclaim in the kitchen at Michael's Santa Monica. |
